Working of touch screen-resistive system

Touch screen phones and computers are now available at cheaper price in our market. Lets see what is the technology behind it.Three systems are used to detect the touch of a person. I am going to explain one of these.
Its called the resistive system. It consist of a normal glass layer which is a good conductor and also a metallic layer. Between these two layers there are space. An electric current runs through these when the device is operated. The outer most layer is scratch-resistant and when a person touches it the previously mentioned two layers come into contact at the exact spot. The electric current variation at that spot is noted and the coordinates of the point are noted by the computer(or phone). Once this coordinate is known it is then converted into signals by drivers and a detected by an operating system(as the movement of mouse is detected).

3-d Mobile

The mirror of developing world - The 3-D technology is expanding, each time crossing milestones.Innovations has lead to rise of 3-D moblie phones. This is being developed by a company named 3M. 3M's researchers announced that they are working on a perfect base to produce the first 3-D phone. The sysytem uses auto stereoscopic display technology. The Mobile phones are soon expected on market says Bill Bryan the technical manager of 3-M's St Paul Minnesota-based Display and Graphics lab.It is expected to be a great success in this world of 3D living rooms and the gaming rooms. It will open a new window to expanding mobile technology and will help in better communication.

The sixth sense

I am gonna put forward an interesting thing. May be you will use this in the near future. A student of U.S Masachusess Institute of technology (MIT) has put forward a system which is called the Sixth Sense. It has a webcam, a small projector with a mirror and a smart phone with internet connection. This forms the Sixth Sense.

The phone can be put in a person's pocket, the webcam and projector can be tied to a twain which is put on the neck. You can take photos using the webcam. It can detect the movement of our fingers. This is by using small caps which is worn in your fingers.

It also provide wide choices like taking photos, making a call, or accessing internet with out using a mobile or a computer. By using the projector, We can check mails by displaying it on walls, T-shirts, hand or any where you want. The camera can be zoomed using fingers (as in iphone). The webcam detects the finger movement and each movement has a decoded code.

A sample of the Sixth Sense is on market called 'Wear your world' (WYW) and it costs 35 U.S dollars.
